Welcome to the student and faculty blog for Northeastern University’s Dialogue of Civilizations to Spain and Morocco, led by Professors Simon Rabinovitch and Program Assistants Kaedyn Murphy and Melody Asaresh Moghadem. On this program, Jews, Christians, and Muslims in Medieval Spain and Morocco: History and Memory, we will be traveling through Morocco and southern Spain studying the religions, art, architecture, prose, poetry, and politics of Al-Andalus and the Maghreb. We will consider the conditions in which different religious groups lived among one another and struggled for supremacy, and what was lost when coexistence–if it ever existed–unraveled. This blog will serve as a venue for student reflections and exhibition for their work.
Where are we traveling?
