Welcome to Northeastern University’s 2025 Dialogue of Civilizations to Morocco and Spain

Hello students, friends, and family! We are just a few days out from our welcome dinner in Rabat, Morocco, and could not be more excited to begin this incredible journey through two continents. During these next few weeks, fourteen students will share their experiences, discoveries, and reflections on the intricate relationships between Jews, Muslims, and Christians during this pivotal period of both conflict and coexistence. Over this month, this blog will be your window into our daily adventures with regular updates written by the students as they explore, listen, and learn about the history, literature, and memory of Medieval Spain and Morocco.

This virtual experience will be led by me, the program assistant for this year’s dialogue! My name is Kaedyn Murphy, I just recently graduated from Northeastern University this year with a Bachelor’s of Science in history. I had the incredible opportunity to participate in this very program last year and am beyond excited to be returning in this role. I am thrilled to support this year’s incredible group of students in one of the most amazing programs this school has to offer.

Get ready for a month of historical exploration, literary discoveries, and unforgettable moments. We are very excited to share our journey with you!

See you in Rabat!
